The Office of the Controller of Budget in collaboration with the Nairobi Metropolitan Services organized for a Covid-19 vaccination exercise for OCOB staff on 13th April 2021 at the head office. This is in line with the government’s initiative to immunize frontline health workers, the elderly and essential staff including security personnel with the AstraZeneca vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India.
This vaccine has been reviewed and found safe not only by WHO, but by several stringent regulatory authorities, including the United States FDA and the European regulatory authority.
Due to the nature of OCOB’s mandate being an essential service provider, this vaccination aims to reduce the risk of transmission and protect staff from the adverse effects of Covid-19.
The Office of the Controller of Budget continues to encourage staff to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines on Covid-19 such as wearing masks, observing social distancing and avoiding congested gatherings and settings even after vaccination.
